Poppy Farsijani

Poppy Farsijani is a producer, investigative journalist, and a former sports journalist who covered the 1998 World Cup for Iran. She began her career as a main news anchor in Iran before continuing her work in the United States with global institutions including Lehman Brothers, BlackRock, and Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia. She is the author of the national bestselling memoir Shaming My Red Lips, founder of Poppy Farsijani Fragrance, a recognized motivational speaker and the host of the podcast Their Game, Their Story, which spotlights athletes overcoming adversity through sport.


Her journey from a westernized teenager navigating cultural shock in the Middle East to reporting under restrictive conditions is chronicled in Shaming My Red Lips. That lived experience now guides her work producing character-driven documentaries that explore displacement, identity, and resilience through the lives of refugee athletes.


Through her storytelling and advocacy, Poppy empowers individuals to heal, bridge cultural and gender divides, and reclaim their voices. Known for her authenticity, emotional depth, and passion, she continues to inspire audiences with openness, heart, and purpose.
